Aurora Festival 2023 very succesfull
Aurora Festival 2023 very successful
With nearly 6,000 concert visitors, about 60 beautiful concerts and activities, and a vibrant Summer Academy, the Aurora Festival 2023 has been extremely successful.
Concert Series
From July 19th to 28th, a total of 56 concerts, presentations, workshops, and public rehearsals/lessons were held. The concerts were performed by about 90 professional musicians, in addition to the participants from the Summer Academy and the Haydn Youth String Orchestra.
In total, 5,900 visitors attended the festival, approximately 600 more than last year. This is a significant growth, despite the festival being one day shorter than last year.
Summer Academy
This year, our Summer Academy welcomed 32 participants from all around the world: the Netherlands, Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Latvia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Mexico, and the United States. For ten days, they received masterclasses, lessons, chamber music classes, and string orchestra lessons from about 25 instructors. The participants also had the opportunity to perform at the lunchtime concerts. A special part of the chamber music classes was the Participatory Ensembles, where students played together with their instructors in various ensembles that were programmed for concerts. Both the instructors and students found this experience to be exceptionally educational and enjoyable.
The organization reflects on a wonderful festival with many highlights, both in the concert series, the special activities in the festival café, the two sunrise concerts, and, of course, the Summer Academy.
The Aurora Festival 2024 will take place from July 17th to 26th.
