Trio Sphera
Trio Sphera is a young and newly formed piano trio with Ilja Venema (violin), Nil Domenech Fuertes (cello) and Ellyne Wieringa (piano). The three musicians met each other during their studies at The Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen (The Netherlands), where they also started the ensemble in the beginning of 2020. Currently the trio is located in The Hague.
In the summer of 2021, Trio Sphera was accepted to the 66th edition of the Jeunesse Musicales Deutschland, receiving masterclasses from the world renowned Casals Quartet and Marianne Shirinyan. The same summer they joined the Orlando festival where they received a full scholarship to participate in the European Summer Course for Chamber Music and give concerts. Here they received masterclasses from i.e. Shuntske Sato, Shuann Chai and The Osiris Trio. In Italy, they were artists in residence for Residart, where they were tutored intensely by Henk Guittart and performed concerts.
The trio is coached by numerous leading chamber musicians from The Netherlands, such as Paul Komen, Jan-Ype Nota, Michel Strauss and Ilona Sie Dhian Ho. Trio Sphera receives ensemble training at The Royal Conservatory of The Hague from Peter Brunt, violinist of the internationally renowned Osiris Trio.
