Salomé Bonnema

Salomé Bonnema (2001) is a violinist who conveys music to her audience with passion and conviction. In 2023, she received a perfect score of 10 with distinction for her Bachelor's final exam, recognized for her "exceptional and sincere craftsmanship." In 2024, she was awarded the prestigious Oskar Back Prize, the top award of the Netherlands Violin Competition. The jury praised her performance, stating: "The intensity of her playing leaves no one untouched. She takes the audience on an adventure, from the first to the last note."
After completing her Bachelor's degree at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague under Vera Beths, she continued her Master’s studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel (Switzerland) with Prof. Rainer Schmidt, violinist of the Hagen Quartet.
Salomé has performed as a soloist with the Residentie Orkest under Jonathan Bloxham at TivoliVredenburg, toured Switzerland as a soloist with the Atheneum Chamber Orchestra, and appeared at various festivals, including the Storioni Festival, Delft Chamber Music Festival, and Oranjewoud Festival.
In addition to her work as a soloist, Salomé cherishes her love for chamber music. As the first violinist of the Viride Quartet, winner of the Kersjes Fund String Quartet Scholarship in 2019, she performs in the most renowned concert halls in the Netherlands. The quartet was the Quartet in Residence at the Zeister Muziekdagen from 2019 to 2023 and has been part of the String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam Residency since October 2023. They are also involved in the European platform MERITA, where they developed the interdisciplinary performance Lost & Found, set to premiere internationally this season.
