Natasja Douma

Natasja Douma received her first piano lessons from her grandmother, the concert pianist Roeli Schijf-Verhoog. Subsequently, she studied at the conservatory in The Hague with Jan Boumans and Marcel Baudet, and from 1989 with Jan Wijn at the conservatory in Amsterdam. She completed this study with the diplomas Docerend Musicus and Uitvoerend Musicus. She studied song accompaniment with Rudolf Jansen and graduated with honors in September 2000. She won the SJMN competition twice. She also won the second prize at the European Music Prize Competition in Antwerp. In 2013, she won the NTR prize for the best performance of the compulsory work (Music minus one or two, Guus Janssen) at the Davina van Wely violin competition.
During her studies, she participated in various masterclasses. She has since successfully performed as a solo pianist, accompanist, and in chamber music settings in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Hungary, and Luxembourg. She regularly performs with cellist Lidy Blijdorp. Natasja is working as piano coach at the conservatory in The Hague.
