Nata Tsvereli
Nata Tsvereli started playing the piano at the age of 8 in Tblisi, Georgia. Her first teachers were Nana Twildiani and Alla Tchikvaidze. In 1994 she was admitted to the Tbilisi State Conservatory with prof. Nodar Gabunia, where she graduated with distinction.
In 1995 she won the 1st prize at the First National Competition in Tblisi. A year later she was a prize winner at the Festival “Spring in Tbilisi”. In 1998 she received the prestigious Shervardnadze Scholarschip and awards at the International London Piano Competition and the International Maria Yudina Competition in Sint-Petersburg. She debuted the same year with the famous Philharmonic Orchestra in St. Petersburg.
In 2002 she started the masters program at the Amsterdam Conservatoire with Jan Wijn. She played the seldom performed 2nd Symphony by Leonard Bernstein with the Noord Nederlands Orkest. She also won the ING Bank Publieksprijs 2002. In 2007 her debut album appeared at DRC with compositions of Schumann.
Since 2000 she forms a piano duo with Paul Komen. She also worked with flute player Thies Roorda for many years. Since 2022 Nata is a member of the Gauguin Ensemble.
Nata is a piano teacher and chamber music teacher at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen since 2003. She is a Steinway artist.
