Maria Fatela Lopéz
Born in 1988, María Fatela started playing piano at the age of 6. When she was 8, she was admited to the Professional Conservatoire “Hermanos Berzosa” in Cáceres. She studied violin since 1996 until 2003 with Juanjo Jareño and Antonio Esmeralda as teachers. In 2001, she passed the middle degree exam to study piano at the same school in Cáceres, where she took lessons from Antonio Paramio until 2007. In that year, she was admited to study Bachelor in “Musikene”, San Sebastián, when she had lessons with Gustavo Díaz Jerez until 2012. During this time, she received contemporary piano lessons by Ricardo Descalzo.
After finishing her Bachelor piano degree in 2012 she moved to Groningen (The Netherlands) to study with Paul Komen at the Prince Claus Conservatoire, where she is finishing her Master studies.
María has received masterclasses by Gustavo Díaz Jerez, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Miguel Ituarte, Ana Guijarro, Sebastián Mariné, Alexander Kandelaki, Sophia Unsworth, Gabriel Loidi, among many others.
In 2007 she won 1st prize in the piano category and 1st prize in chamber music category at the 7th Competition of young musicians from Extremadura “Ciudad de Almendralejo”.
She gave concerts in Trujillo (Cáceres), Cáceres, San Sebastián, Groningen, Leeuwarden, among many other places.
