Marco Sanna
Sardinian pianist Marco Sanna started playing the piano at the age of five. He studied with Patrick Zygmanowski in Paris and with Fabio Bidini at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. He obtained his master’s degree from the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. He has taken numerous master classes with Jacques Rouvier, Benedetto Lupo, Pinchas Zukerman, Pamela Frank, Menahem Pressler, András Schiff, Gábor Takács-Nagy, José Gallardo, Friedemann Weigle and Jonathan Aner, among others.
He has performed in Italy, Germany, Sweden, USA, Switzerland, Spain, France, Hungary and Belgium and is a laureate of various national and international competitions. He was invited to the Verbier Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival, Beethovenfest Bonn, Rome International Piano Festival, Worpsweder Musikherbst, Festival Academy Budapest, Aurora Music Festival and others. He has performed in concert halls such as the Berliner Philharmonie, Kammermusiksaal Berlin, the Konzerthaus Berlin, Piano Salon Christophori Berlin, Kloster Eberbach, the Arthur-Rubinstein-Saal in Munich, the Robert-SchumannHaus in Zwickau, the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn and the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest.
He regularly collaborates in chamber music with members of the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Karajan Akademie Berlin and the WDR Funkhausorchester Köln and has performed with, among others, Natalia Lomeiko, Yuri Zhislin, Andy Miles and Massimo Spadano. In the summer of 2017 he undertook a four-month tour of Europe and America sponsored by Lincoln Center New York with the Furiant Quartet (Berlin). With the Italian double bassist Orazio Ferrari he realized two CDs, for which they received rave reviews in The Strad and Gramophone. In 2019 his CD Favorites with the clarinetist Andy Miles was released.
