Laura Vilela Garcia
Born in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Laura Vilela García worked several years with Tenerife
Symphony Orchestra (OST) while completing her bachelor studies in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and
her Máster de Interpretación Solística at Katarina Gurska (Madrid, Spain).
Right after, she decided to continue her studies in The Netherlands, where she has already
completed a master at the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen and she is currently studying
Master of Classical Violin at The Hague Royal Conservatoire, both of them in the class of Ilona Sie
Dhian Ho.
During these years she has nourished her love for orchestra music, sharing the stage with many
different ensembles and orchestras such as NASKA, Kamerorkest van het Noorden, or Nederlandse
Bach Academie. Now, that she has recently moved to The Hague, she is still a member of the
Kamerorkest van het Noorden and she is actively participating in the creation of a new professional
chamber orchestra in The Hague as well as an strings octet that focuses on concerts for children.
She plays with a Karel van der Meer bow lent by NMF.
