Kalina Vladovska
Kalina Vladovska’s musical path begins as she gets accepted in the National Music School “Lyubomir Pipkov” Sofia, Bulgaria, with percussion instruments at the age of 12. In 2017, the percussionist takes the step to move to the Netherlands and study in the Prins Claus Conservatorium in the class of Tatiana Koleva, Joeke Hoekstra and Mihaly Kaszas.
Her development goes very fast from the start of her music study. Already in 2013, she is invited on an international tour with the Wonderful Youth Orchestra, conductor Igor Coretti. In the coming five years she gains experience participating in various projects and competitions, and earns first prizes in Romania 2014, Bulgaria 2016 and the Princess Christina Concours, Netherlands 2019.
Alongside the competitions, Kalina already begins performing as a soloist in her school years. Her first performance is in the Netherlands in 2016 and in the winter of 2019\2020 as a Prinses Christina Concours prize winner, she goes on tour as the soloist of JeugdOrkest Nederlands with the percussion concerto “Incantations” by Einojuhani Rautavaara, conducted by Jurien Hempel.
Not only does Kalina perform as a soloist, she also broadens her experience by being part of well-known orchestras and ensembles, some of which are Noord Nederlands Orkest, Jong Metropole, Sofia Opera and Ballet, Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Very soon after, she has the great chance to become a performer of the ensemble Youth Percussion Pool, artistic leader Tatiana Koleva, and give concerts with them at venues, such as the Bimhuis, Club Doelen, Grachtenfestival Amsterdam and Peter de Grote festival amongst many others.
Together with organist Sietze de Vries, in the Martinikerk, Kalina records Michael Praetorius’ Suite de Danses for Organ and Percussion in Organ Album “Orgelprobe”.
The versatility in the young musician’s background and experience gives her the freedom to express numerous sides of her music in one performance.
