Juan Zurutuza
Mexican born pianist Juan Zurutuza received piano lessons in Mexico from Guadelupe Parrondo, Gastón Lafourcade and Susana Avendano. He moved to the Netherlands to study at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague with Rian de Waal. This study was made possible by a scholarship from the Labberté-Hoedemaker Foundation. He took masterclasses with Juan Zayas, Jorge Luis Prats, Pascal Devoyon, Igor Roma, Jacques Rouvier, Dr. Leslie Howard and Aldo Ciccolini. Juan has given solo recitals and performed with orchestras in important concert halls of the Netherlands and Mexico. These include the Palacio de Bellas Artes, the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and Muziekcentrum Vredenburg Utrecht. Juan won the 1st prize at the Manuel M. Ponce competition and was prize winner at the Morales von Sauer competition. He regularly takes part in the Rhijnauwen chamber music festival and the Zwolse Nazomer Kamermuziekweek.
