Jacobien Rozemond
Jacobien Rozemond studied violin with Davina van Wely and Ilya Grubert. In 1995 she graduated with a perfect 10 cum laude at the Rotterdam Conservatoire and won the Esso Award with this. She continued her studies with David Takeno in London. She worked as concert master with conductor Seji Ozawa at the Tanglewood Music Festival in the USA.
As a solo violinist Jacobien performed all over the world with repertoire from Beethoven, Brahms and Schnittke to McCabe, in countries such as France, Italy, the USA and Argentina.
From 1997 to 2004 Jacobien was a member of the Combattimento Consort Amsterdam and became principal second violinist of the Amsterdam Sinfonietta. She was concert master and solo violinist at both ensembles. She was member of the Ruysdael Quartet and the Amsterdam Bridge Ensemble, which recorded various CDs with music by composers such as Hendrik Andriessen and René Samson (which was awarded with a 10 in the music magazine Luister). In 2015 she founded the Hermitage Quartet at the Peter de Grote Festival.
Jacobien combines her violin performing with singing and performing in the theatre show 'Vivaldi code red' and in a theatre solo production concerning the Thousand and one nights. With accordionist Reneé Bekker she will release this last performance on the cd Vox in 2021.
