Ivan Penkov

Born in Bulgaria, Ivan studied in The Netherlands at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen with Paul Komen. He continued his masterstudies at the Conservatoire of Amsterdam with Jan Wijn.

Ivan's carreer started in Pleven in Bulgaria where he joined the National School for the Arts at the age of six. At the age of eleven he performed with the Pleven Symphony Orchestra.

Ivan followed various masterclasses with Boris Bloch, Charles Rosen, Vladimir Tropp, LEslie Howard, Rian de Waal and Pascal Devoyon. Ivan was awarded various prizes at international competitions. In 2014 he was one of the 12 finalists of the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition. In 2008 he won the Klaas Dijkstra Award at the Peter the Great Festival.
