Itxaso Etxeberria Jaurrieta

Itxaso Etxeberria started her piano lessons at the age of seven with her mother. She continued her piano studies in her hometown, “Conservatorio Profesional de Música Pablo Sarasate”, with Izpiñe Uribiondo and Fermin Bernechea. In 2005 she was admitted in “Musikene”, San Sebastián, where she studied with Marta Zabaleta and Miguel Borges. In this period she took contemporary piano music lessons with Ricardo Descalzo. After finishing her bachelor degree in 2009 she moved to Groningen (The Netherlands) to continue her piano studies with Paul Komen at the Prince Claus Conservatoire. From 2010 until 2013 she received a full scholarship from her region, “Ampliación de estudios artísticos – Navarra”, to broaden her piano career. At the moment she is finishing her master studies at the Prince Claus Conservatoire.

Itxaso received masterclasses by Nata Tsvereli, Almudena Cano, Miguel Ituarte, Gustavo Díaz – Jerez, Jerusalem Quartet, Matthijs Verschoor, Maria Belooussova, Théodore Paraskivesco, Ervin Schiffer, Kati Sebestyén, László Fassang, Sophia Unsworth, among many others. 

In 2007 she was awarded with the National Prize “Acordes Caja Madrid” in chamber music with her Sonos Quintet and performed in the “Teatro Monumental” in Madrid, which was recorded by RTVE. Since then they have given several concerts such as in the International Music Festival in Medina del Campo (Valladolid), in the “Marcelino Botín” foundation in Santander and many other places in the Basque Country.
