Ilona Timchenko
Ilona Timchenko graduated Moscow Conservatory, as well as Prince Claus Conservatoire and Koninklijk Conservatorium in the Hague. Later she improved her skills with Lazar Berman in Florence and Michel Beroff in Paris.
Blessed with phenomenal technique and powerful musical and expressive skills, Ilona has developed her concert activity performing both in recitals and with orchestras at Wigmore Hall, Philips Hall in Holland, the Vienna Musikverein, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Madrid's Monumental Theatre, Oriental Arts Centre in Shanghai, among many others.
Ilona premièred many works by contemporary composers, some of which were dedicated to her.
Her CD’s were highly praised by critics around the world and got top ranking in “International Record Review magazine” , “Gramophone” , “Ritmo”, among others.
She won a lot of important competitions like Enesco Competition in Bucharest, Beethoven Competition in Vienna, the Liszt Competition in Utrecht and the Maria Callas Grand Prix in Athens.
Ilona is a founder and Artistic Director of International Festival “Peregrinos Musicales” (Santiago de Compostela).
Timchenko is a Head of the Piano Department in CSM de Galicia combining this position with professorship at Forum Musicae in Madrid.
