Hawijch Elders

Hawijch Elders is a promising Dutch violinist. Since September 2022, she has been an Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo, where she studies under Augustin Dumay.
In May 2023, Hawijch Elders won the 1st prize at the 8th Henri Marteau International Violin Competition, along with three special prizes for the best performances of works by Bach, Reger, and Marteau. In October 2023, she was awarded 4th prize at the prestigious Premio Paganini Competition in Genoa, Italy. In 2021, she won 1st prize at the Leonid Kogan International Competition for Young Violinists and secured 2nd prize along with special prizes at the Odessa International Violin Competition. She was also a laureate of Dutch Classical Talent 2021/2022. Prior to that, she received awards at the 37th ‘Premio Rodolfo Lipizer’ International Violin Competition 2018 and the Dutch National Violin Competition ‘Oskar Back’ 2018. In December 2019, she was awarded the Kersjes Violin Scholarship from the Kersjes Fund at the Royal Concertgebouw.
Since 2016, Hawijch studied under Ilya Grubert at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music with the highest distinction. Before that, she studied with Benzion Shamir.
She has performed as a soloist in violin concertos by Beethoven, Sibelius, Britten, Dvořák, Tchaikovsky, and Paganini with renowned orchestras, including the Belgian National Orchestra, Real Filharmonía de Galicia, Orquestra Clássica da Madeira, Teatro Carlo Felice, the Residentie Orkest, Amadeus Chamber Orchestra of Polish Radio, Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. She made her debut at Bozar in Brussels in March 2023, performing Mozart’s Fourth Violin Concerto with the Wiener KammerOrchester under the baton of Augustin Dumay.
