Eva de Vries

Eva de Vries is a highly sought-after chamber and orchestral musician. She received her Master of Music with Distinction in 2019 upon graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied with Levon Chilingirian (Chilingirian Quartet) after completing her Bachelor's degree at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague under Peter Brunt and Philippe Graffin.
In 2016, she founded The New String Trio at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, with whom she won the Grote Kamermuziek Prijs in 2017. Following this success, they performed at various festivals in the Netherlands, including the Grachtenfestival, Classical Encounters (formerly the International Chamber Music Festival The Hague), the NJO Muziekzomer, as well as internationally at the ‘Modernisma’ Festival in Barcelona and the ‘Lake District Summer Music Festival’ in the United Kingdom.
In 2017, she founded the Bloomsbury Quartet at the Royal Academy of Music, where she currently serves as the first violinist. They were selected for the Stroud Green Festival Ensemble Scheme for the 2018-2019 season and were the Wigmore Hall/Open Academy Fellowship ensemble for 2018-2019.
Other highlights of Eva’s chamber music career include performances at the Concertgebouw, a tour with the Brahms Horn Trio in Canada and the western United States, and performances with members of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the Rotterdam Chamber Music Society.
As an orchestral musician, she has played with the London Sinfonietta and served as concertmaster of the Orion Orchestra in October 2019. Additionally, she performs as a substitute in various Dutch orchestras, including the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra.
