Ellen van Beek

Mezzo soprano Ellen van Beek studied at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht with Henny Diemer. During her studies she joined the opera class of Monique Wagemakers and Jan Slothouwer. She is currently coached by Margreet Honig.

Ellen is a much asked for vocalist for opera's, music theatre, chamber music, oratoria and symphonic repertoire. She performed with many orchestras with repertiure such as Les Nuits d’ éte by Berlioz, Hymne an die Nacht, No.2 by Diepenbrock, Siete Canciones Populares Espanolas by De Falla, Alt Rhapsodie by Brahms, and much more. Besides that Ellen performed many masss by Bach, Beethoven, Haydn and Mozart.

Since her studies she starred in various opera's, amongst which Messagiera in Monteverdis Orfeo, Dritte Dame in Mozarts Der Zauberflöte and as Glucks Orfeo in the music thatre production Orfeo Intermezzi by the Onafhankelijk Toneel.
