Eline de Vries

Eline Rosalie de Vries (1999) started playing the violin at the age of 9 with Carolyn van Gemert. She won the Audience Award and the Jury Award at the Haydn Muziek Festival when she was ten. She studied at the Prins Claus Conservatoire with Veselina Manikova and is currently studying with Ilona Sie Dhian Ho at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. She followed masterclasses kby Emmy Verhey, Simone Lamsma, Lisa Jacobs and Johannes Leertouwer.

Besides the Haydn Muziek Festival Eline won various awards at the Britten Violin Competition, the Prinses Christina Concours and the Val Tidone Competition in Italy. In 2018 she was awarded the Friends of the Prins Claus Conservatoire Scholarship during the Peter de Grote Festival. 

Eline performed solo with orchestras such as the Britten Jeugd Strijkorkest, the Haydn Jeugd Strijkorkest and the Noord Nederlands Orkest. She is also active in chamber music, as violinist of the Calure Quartet, with which she performed in a.o. the Koninklijk Concertgebouw. She was a member of the Haydn Jeugd Strijkorkest for many years, where she also was concert master. She was a member of the Schleswig Holstein Festivalorchester, with conductors such as Manfred Honeck, Christoph Eschenbach and Ton Koopman. In 2020 she was selected for the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester.
