Christy Luth

Soprano Christy Luth (1995) started singing at the age of fourteen. When she was seventeen, she was admitted to the singing course at the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen. During her bachelor's degree, she first studied with Marion van den Akker, then with Marcel Boone and successfully graduated in 2017 with Hanneke de Wit. She is now continuing her studies with Hanneke for her Master of Music degree.
She also took several lessons with Renate Arends, Marjan Kuiper, pianist Eelko Molenaar, breathing coach Paul Triepels and Bach specialist Nico van der Meel. She also took part in master classes with Margreet Honig and Salome Kammer. She is coached in drama and acting by opera director Elsina Jansen. She regularly sings solo repertoire in the Netherlands, for example with conductors Hoite Pruiksma, Louis Buskens and Leendert Runia. In 2015 she took part in a project on music & dementia, where she performed new compositions for participants of the Odensehuis in Groningen.
Christy sang early music (for example Charpentier's opera Les Arts Florissants) with the Consort for 18th Century Music from The Hague and Baroque Ensemble Eik en Linde from Amsterdam. Since September 2017 she has been active as a singing teacher at the Roden Girl Choristers led by Sonja de Vries. She also likes to sing choral music, which is why she has been part of the Northern Vocaal Ensemble for years, and she did an internship with the Dutch Chamber Choir conducted by Peter Dijkstra and with the Groot Omroepkoor conducted by Marcus Creed.
