Caspar Westerman
Caspar Westerman (2001) started his cello lessons at the age of 8 with Arjan van der Boom. He continued his studies with Corine 't Hoen at the Young Talent Class of the Prince Claus Conservatoire. He was member of the Haydn Youth String Orchestra for many years. He is active as chamber musician with the Calure Quartet. He currently studies with Jan-Ype Nota, first at the Prince Claus Conservatoire and now at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. He also follows lessons with Michael Strauss. He followed masterclasses with cellists such as Amir Eldan, Godfried Hoogeveen, Amparo Lacruz and Harro Ruijsenaars.
Caspar won may awards, amongst which at the Princes Christina Competition and the Labberté Hoedemaker Price at the Peter de Grote Festival. He was selected to take part in the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchester.
Caspar plays on a bow which is borrowed to him by the National Music Instrument Funds.
