Bert Honig
Bert Honig studied recorder at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with Marijke Miessen, Walter van Hauwe and Kees Boeke. Since 1986 he has been a member of the Brisk Recorder Quartet Amsterdam, which was coached by Frans Brüggen, recorded ten CDs and toured all over the world.
Bert regularly performs with violinist Mimi Mitchell and harpsichordist Christina Edelen, as well as with the Occhio di Falcone ensemble. Together with Marjolijn van Roon he gave many concerts and recorded several CDs.
Bert gives recorder lessons, workshops and master classes in the Netherlands, Germany, England, Czech Republic, Portugal, Canada and Taiwan. He is a guest teacher at the conservatories of Enschede and Utrecht. Bert has also been committed to organizing the SONBU (Open Dutch Recorder Festival) for many years.
