Beatriz Galán

Beatriz Galán was born in Palma de Mallorca, where she started her musical studies at the age of 7 at the Professional Conservatory of Palma de Mallorca and ended them by winning the Honour Award for Chamber Music. She was awarded 3rd prize in the piano category at the 1st International Piano Competition “Vila de Capdepera” in 2001 and at the 7th International Piano Competition “Ciutat de Mallorca in 2003.

In 2009 she was admitted to study Bachelor in Musikene in San Sebastian, the Basque Country, where she had lessons with Emmanuel Ferrer and Ricardo Descalzo, specializing in Contemporary Music. After finishing her Bachelor’s degree, she combined her work teaching with concerts, accompanying pianist in the masterclasses of the violin teacher Manel Guillén and Yuri Volguin, accompanying pianist of the opera choir at Palma de Mallorca’s Main Theatre and at the Conservatoire of Felanitx.

She has given piano recitals in Spain and France. Beatriz has been privileged to receive masterclasses by Andrzej Jasinski, Leonid Sintsev, David Kuyken, Marta Zabaleta, Roberto Bravo, Ralph Van Raat, Igor Roma, among many others.

In 2019, Beatriz moved to Groningen (The Netherlands) to study Master of Music with Paul Komen at the Prins Claus Conservatoire and was selected for the final of The Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Concours 2021. This year she also graduated cum laude from the conservatoire. Her passion for Jazz led her to research Jazz's influences in the classical repertoire, and she continues to explore the different ways of transferring the style of Jazz to these pieces.

Beatriz is currently working as piano teacher, pianist with various choirs and she is teaching workshops at the Prince Claus Conservatoire.
