Arjan Jongsma

Arjan Jongsma has been giving solo recitals at events such as the International Chamber Music Festival Schiermonnikoog, Festival Wonderfeel, International Marimba Summer Camp Theodor Milkov, International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht and Bach Festival Dordrecht. Furthermore he was soloist with orchestras like the Residentie Orchestra, Noordpool Orchestra, Philips Symphony Orchestra, and the Dutch Theater Orchestra.

Arjan substituted as a timpani player in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, is associated with the Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht and is a regular guest player in various Dutch orchestras. In addition he is a member of the Colori Ensemble.

Arjan is teaching at the Sweelinck Academy, the young talent class of the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and has been part of the faculty of the International Marimba Summer Camp of Theodor Milkov since the first edition in 2017. Furthermore Arjan is a regular guest teacher at the Percussion Friends Chamber Music Academy.
