Amke te Wies
Amke te Wies started her cello lessons at the age of 8 with Wilma van der Wardt. She was admitted to the young talent class of the Conservatoire in Amsterdam at the age of 13, where she studied with Maarten Mostert. She continued her studies at the Musikhochschule in Zürich with professor Roel Dieltiens. She graduated her bachelor degree in Amsterdam with Jelena Ocic and she is currently studying on her master Cello in Historical Perspective, for which she studies cello with Jelena Ocic and baroque cello with Viola de Hoog
Amke was member of the Fancy Fiddles with Coosje Wijzenbeek. She received masterclasses with Anner Bylsma, Troels Svane, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Richard Aaron, Reinhard Latzko, Gary Hoffman and Paul Katz.
In October 2018 Amke was awarded the 2nd prize at the Cello Competition of the Cello Biënnale Amsterdam. Besides that she won the award for best interpretation of the composition by Theo Loevendie.
